Solution Focused Therapy Individual, Couples & Family Therapy

We can live a more fulfilling life and positively impact those we care for most. Our solution-focused and evidenced-based practice will help you look ahead and determine where you want to go and who you want to be. We will work together and build solutions on how best to get there, reduce potential conflict and bring about the necessary change in your life.

Acknowledging issues can be difficult and oftentimes avoided. Problems do not generally go away on their own. Nothing changes if nothing changes. Take a different approach to problem solving and get different results. Learn to be the change you want to see. Determine what is most important to you and how to make decisions from this place versus from a place of fear.

Learn to be more comfortable and confident as you assert yourself and your needs. You will grow and learn to better communicate. I teach pragmatic tools, skills, and strategies that help to make life easier and lighter for you, and ultimately help you get what you want.

People I work with tell me they do not feel judged and that they feel safe enough to disclose some of the most intimate details of their lives. This is the place to do it, safely in therapy with a professional.

In all, I love working with people and helping them to acknowledge themselves and how to manage what that means. You will learn to be more vulnerable (yes, it’s a strength) and recognize how much value and worth you have.

Mediation

Mediation offers an environment for parties to safely and effectively express their thoughts, feelings, needs and interests. Parties discuss options and ideally reach mutually agreed-upon solutions.

A solution-building approach is utilized. I draw upon a solution-focused mental health background and therapeutic mediation expertise. I provide support and services to people managing high conflict situations.

One of the most important aspects of a successful mediation includes the mediator's ability to listen carefully and ask precise and purposeful questions that ultimately lead to a more productive discussion.

Each party is the expert on their own lives, what they can live with, the current issues and the conflict at hand. When it comes to determining one's future as well as a child's best interest, it is important for me that both parties feel heard and acknowledged through-out this process.

I am passionate about helping people address, manage and resolve their conflicts. I was a volunteer mediator for Jefferson County’s Mediation Services Office for several years.

Get What You Need

In my Denver mediation practice, I offer Mediation for a wide range of personal and professional issues. Taking the first step is a significant leap to an increased place of calm and problem-resolution. Trust that I will steer your party in a structured, productive, and solution-oriented direction. My goal is to help you get what you need and to stay focused.

I work diligently to allow enough emotion for awareness and understanding to occur but not so much that parties escalate and continue to remain divided.

As a trained Conflict Resolution Specialist, I assist in domestic and organizational disputes.

Through Mediation, parties are able to address and find solutions to the most concerning aspects of their conflict. Accessing Mediation allows people to save time and avoid costly attorney and legal fees. Save your money for the important things in life!!

The Mediation Process

  • Helps to preserve important relationships
  • Sessions are confidential and voluntary for all parties
  • The process typically involves one or more meetings between the disputing parties and the mediator
  • Confidential one-on-one sessions between individual parties and the mediator (a caucus) may occur during a mediation
  • Either party may withdraw at any time
  • Generally, a signed agreement is binding; in some cases, court approval may be necessary
  • Mediators assure the fairness of the process, facilitate communication, and maintain the balance of power between the parties
  • Parties may choose to be represented by an attorney during Mediation
  • Mediators do not give legal advice or interpret the law
  • Mediators can refer parties to impartial outside experts in legal, behavioral health, financial or other fields to address specific questions or issues that might arise
  • If a mutually agreed-upon resolution is made, mediators may assist in drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), comprised of the terms to which the parties have agreed
  • If Mediation is unsuccessful and an agreement cannot be reached, parties may still pursue all legal avenues
